There is no denying the power of the spoken word. The discourse we find society in today prompted me to sit down with Spoken Word Artist, Venus Jones, to discuss how to bring civility and inspiration back to the conversation. I believe you’ll learn something and enjoy this chat with Venus as she not only explains the history of the spoken word, but she’ll also demonstrate the power of the spoken word.
The spoken word is a form of poetry that often uses alliterative prose or verse and occasionally uses metered verse to express social commentary. The spoken word and its most popular offshoot, slam poetry, evolved into the present day soap-box for people to express their views, emotions, life experiences or information to audiences. Enjoy the performance and conversation with Venus.
It’s… (remind me, the word I’m looking for) indisputable. That’s right, the power of the spoken word is indisputable.

Ancient principles that were laughed upon at one time are now being used to heal. When the forces of energy come together, the results can be amazing! In this segment we discuss a kinder, gentler form of energy healing with Nicole Fouche from Amethyst Health. Pranic Healing is a highly evolved and tested system of energy medicine developed by GrandMaster Choa Kok Sui that utilizes prana to balance, harmonize and transform the body’s energy processes. Prana is a Sanskrit word that means life-force. This invisible bio-energy or vital energy keeps the body alive and maintains a state of good health. In acupuncture, the Chinese refer to this sublte energy as Chi. It is also called Ruach or the Breath of Life in Hebrew.
Pranic Healing is a simple yet powerful & effective system of no-touch energy healing. It is based on the fundamental principles that the body is a self-repairing living entity that possesses the ability to heal itself and that the healing process is accelerated by increasing this life force that is readily available from the sun, air and ground to address physical & emotional imbalances. Master Choa Kok Sui says “Life Energy or prana is all around us. It is pervasive; we are actually in an ocean of Life Energy. Based on this principle, a healer can draw in Pranic Energy of Life Energy from the surroundings.”
Pranic Healing requires no drugs, gadgets, not even physical contact with the subject. Physical contact is not required because the practitioner is working on the bioplasmic or energy body and not directly on the physical body. This energy body, or aura, is the mold or blueprint that surrounds and interpenetrates the physical body. It is the energy body that absorbs life energy and distributes it throughout the physical body, to the muscles, organs, glands, etc. The reason Pranic Healing works on the energy body is that physical ailments first appear as energetic disruptions in the aura before manifesting as problems in the physical body.

This pervasive energy that surrounds, interpenetrates and sustains the physical body, also affects our emotions, our ability to handle stress, relationships and even finances.
Pranic Healing has been shown to be effective in treating:
- The respiratory system, e.g. asthma, bronchitis, coughs; and Allergies
- The circulatory system, e.g. heart ailments
- The gastrointestinal system, e.g. irritable bowel syndrome, constipation
- The musculoskeletal system, e.g. menstrual problems, infertility
- The mental system, e.g. stress, phobias, addictions, depression
I think I can. I think I can. I think I can. If you think it … and believe it enough times, it should come true. Right?
The power of positive thinking can work wonders, unless it’s up against physics. Fire walking is about mind over matter: you repeat a mantra and walk slowly across the coals, and your feet don’t get burned (or at least that’s the concept). For instance when your bare skin touches hot burning coals, most often you’ll get burned. But can you convince yourself that you will not get burned? Seems my first inclination on positive thinking vs. physics is correct. But taking the physics out of it, I will suggest to you that the power of positive thinking far outweighs a meager existence. The fact is when you take your agenda one step further than you ordinarily would, you’ll already be in a position of strength.
Listen – I’m always telling you to Make the Leap – well here is your chance – if it’s me and there is a row of hot coals in front of me – why fire walk on them when I can leap over them! When are you going to make the leap?
Here is the truth on what happens when you fire walk on hot coals:

We talk a great deal about failure being good for you… but it’s not like you wake up in the morning and say okay ‘I’m going to fail today’. We simply tend to learn more from failure than success. Maybe it’s because we analyze the failure more thoroughly… while the success doesn’t require an-in-depth analysis.
When you run into the next detour on your path forward…. take it.
No one is without challenges, the difference between victim and victor is directly attributed to your attitude and willingness to alter that outcome. Victims complain about the circumstances because they’re focused on the problem. The Victor aligns their thinking with the solution. Here are my 5 pointers that will prepare you for the inevitable detours ahead…
Ask yourself… are you a Victim of Circumstances or a Victor of Consequences?

Tempers flair, attitudes blowup and people sound off! Problem is they sound off without understanding the consequences! And we’re not just talking about the guy who just cut your off on the highway – Social Media Is The New Road Rage.
“Sir (or madam) I’m so sorry you feel that way. I sincerely apologize for even in the slightest way, fracturing your perfect picture of a happy Earth where animals and human co-exist in peace and don’t eat each other, but THIS IS THE REAL WORLD, BITCH!!!!!! Get your PETA ass back to your car, mind your own phucking business, and pour yourself a nice, steamy hot, delicious cup of SHUT THE F##K UP!!!”
Yes this is a real message and its origin is from a social media chat site back a few years ago and it still comes up today just the same as the day it was written. Sure it’s funny when you first read it but there is a lasting impact that will always be tied to the person who sent it. For instance when you type his name in a search engine, guess what comes up? You guessed it… which means be careful what you say out there IF you don’t want it to come back to haunt you… and probably when you least expect it.
Social media sites have become the new road rage. If you’re one of those people that take a knee-jerk reaction to the trauma of the moment then this segment is for you.
